The room was very good and quite big compared to other hotels in Japan. I want to highlight that the staff was always very helpful and nice with us, also they speaking English was a plus. The location was very good, it counts with connections via bus or train to go to touristic places like Kinkakuji, Gion or Fushimi Inari, and it's only 15 min away from Kioto Station. The happy hour was very nice, many people attend and it makes a happy environment in the hotel. Also, there is an area with tables, chairs and microwave where you can eat your own food. Lastly, the hotel is pet friendly, which I also find as a plus :)

1. 10 minutes from Kyoto station by walking, I think it is quite okay for visitors who just arrive Kyoto. 2. Although bit far away from centre, but it is very quiet and clam community, the small river near hotel is so beautiful. Bus is convenient so I don't think bit far from centre is an issue. 3. Free cafe, nice staff, room is bigger and comfortable than other hotels. Even my room is front of elevator, still very quiet. Overall speaking, I feel it is really nice! I would get back to this hotel next time I visit Kyoto.

The staff were really friendly and kind. There was a girl on reception, Huang? She was so helpful and always smiling. All the other staff were very welcoming too. The breakfast was very nice, quite simple but in a really good way. The communal areas were all very nice and I got to talk to other travellers in the mornings at breakfast. They give you one hour of free drinks a night and you can choose from a variety. I really liked it, it was a fun hotel with lovely staff.

It is conveniently located near the train station, although there are limited dining options in the immediate area. However, the hotel compensates for this with an in-house kitchen service available until 9 p.m., as well as a happy hour from 6 to 9 p.m. Overall, it offers good value for money, and I would recommend it to other travelers.

This worked out perfectly, there was always 1 free when we needed it (although the dryer function is awful, you will need to dry your laundry 3 times).
